Andalusian Paella
Mari Pepa & Raquel’s delicious version of the paella

Mother & daughter cooking at their Málaga 19th century house

Mari Pepa and Raquel are mother and daughter. And they are both in love with cooking in general, and with Andalusian gastronomy in particular. Mari Pepa’s house enriches this gastronomic journey even more. Only 20 minutes from the centre of Malaga and 10 minutes from the beach, this 19th century stately home will be the perfect place for an unforgettable food experience in Andalusia.

The delicious menu starts with Ajo Blanco, a cold soup made with almonds, olive oil, garlic, bread, and vinegar. A mixed paella with meat, fish and vegetables will be the main course you won’t be able to resist. To finish, nothing better than a homemade flan with that Malagueño touch of our dinner hostesses.

Nuria's culinary proposal for an Andalusian dinner

A typical diner from Cádiz in a classical Andalusian patio

Continuing with our food experiences in Andalusia, we now head to a beautiful country house not far from a well-known town in the heart of Cádiz. In Jerez de la Frontera, the birthplace of sherry wine, we are welcomed by Nuria, a fan of her mother’s recipes and an impeccable dinner hostess who will prepare a succulent menu.

As a starter, a varied assortment of local delicacies, such as cheese, ham, fried aubergines (grown in her garden) fried with honey, Spanish omelette with cheese… Impossible to resist! After that, a delicious tomato salad with tuna belly from Cádiz. And for the main course, Iberian pork cheeks with potatoes. And if that wasn’t enough, for dessert Nuria will prepare Pocito, a typical sweet from Jerez, which will be the sweetest culmination to your gastronomic experience.

Tasty gastronomy in the beautiful historic centre of Córdoba

Pepa has dedicated her life to her two passions: painting and cooking. Her typical Cordovan house located in the historic centre of the city radiates a charm that will make your dinner an incredible food experience in Andalusia. With a beautiful roof terrace and balconies full of fragrant flowers, dinner at our hostess’ house will be unforgettable.

You can’t miss the traditional salmorejo, nor the famous flamenquín from Córdoba. To start with some toasts with ham, olives, meatballs, baby lettuce and chorizo in wine, and that’s just the beginning! Then, get ready for a wonderful seafood paella and to finish, the typical Andalusian Easter torrijas and a cheesecake Pepa’s style. Yummy!

Amaparo's pork cheek

Seville grandmother’s recipes in the neighbourhood of Triana

Another of our favourite food experiences in Andalusia takes place in the famous Sevillian neighbourhood of Triana. Overlooking the Guadalquivir river and next to the legendary La Maestranza bullring, Amparo will delight us with her tasty dishes in her flat full of sweet family memories. Everything she knows about cooking, she learned from her paternal grandmother, and even today she continues to prepare her traditional recipes full of flavour and affection.

What about starting your gastronomic dinner with a cauliflower with garlic, Andalusian-style dressed carrots and an assortment of cold meats from the mountains of Huelva including ham, chorizo and salchichón. Then, an avocado and prawn salad, a refreshing dish that will prepare us for a hearty main course: pork cheek in red wine, a traditional meal in Córdoba. Finally, a nougat flan will be the perfect ending to a gastronomic experience in the style of the best caliphs.

Food experiences in Andalusia, Carnival Custard by Ana
Ana’s sweet & delicious Carnival Custard

Traditional flavours from Jaén in the heart of Granada

Ana was born in Jaén, in the stunning Sierra de Cazorla, but she has been living in Granada for more than thirty years. Therefore, her heart is divided between these two wonderful corners of Andalusia. Ana has skilfully combined the flavours of both traditions. The last of our food experiences in Andalusia will take you to discover some of the most typical dishes of this land.

We will start with a warming stew based on lentils and vegetables. Then, the flavorful pork cheek with roasted potatoes is a must. And last but not least, the icing on the cake is this irresistible dessert called Carnival curd, creamy and delicious. But also, a typical sweet from Christmas time called mantecados, a delight with years of tradition.
